We are currently seeking:

Manager, LPG Operations

BW LPG is looking for a highly motivated and self-driven Operator Specialist to join our Operations team. Based in Oslo, this position will ensure effective and efficient coordination of fleet vessels operations.

The role requires following up on contractual commitments, monitor daily operational activities, ensuring vessel compliance to various regulations and performance as per Charter Party and contracts. The role involves working closely with Charterers, Commercial department and technical fleet organization based in Oslo to support our customers, in constant pursuit of operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for daily vessel operations in all time zones under direct supervision of the Manager/Senior Manager
  • Negotiate and procure bunkers for spot market ships, under the guidance of the Manager/Senior Manager
  • Maintain up to date and manage all department / fleet operational records, files and databases
  • Process and ensure compliance with Charter Party requirements and company procedures, all relevant operational information between fleet vessels, brokers, charterers and agents
  • Monitor and record all details of voyage performance including off-hire, stoppages and delays
  • Liaise with the Commercial department concerning any vessel information requirements, questionnaires, certification, and scheduling as part of all pre and post fixture support
  • Liaise with the fleet and manning teams on vessel movements and voyage scheduling
  • Arrange all routine invoicing and funding for voyage costs, including agency appointments, non-compulsory pilotage and surveyor’s attendance
  • Assist in department projects or additional duties as and when required
  • Actively participate in the development of the quality management system and engage in the process for the continuous improvement of departmental procedures
  • Drive performance improvement initiatives and sharing best practices

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Maritime studies, or equivalent degree in Logistics / Business
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in the Maritime industry. Sailing experience preferred
  • Familiar with gas carrier vessel operations
  • Understanding of post-fixture work, laytime and demurrage calculations
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Hold a permanent residence permit for work purposes in Norway
